Artwork by Robin Denevan
In this exhibition, Robin Denevan presents two related bodies of work, In the first group, Denevan creates circular panels using the up-to-the-moment technical approach of digital image processing and CAD-based laser wood engraving into birch plywood. In the second group of images, Denevan utilizes the ancient material language of encaustic (wax and pigment), a technique originating a thousand years ago in Egypt. With these processes, Denevan acknowledges and addresses the current and immediate plight of the world's natural waterways, while also investigating, exploring, and presenting to the viewer their ancient beauty and power.
